Canção Noturna do Peregrino

Canção Noturna do Peregrino ( Goethe, tradução Guilherme Preger)

I

Tu, que és celestial,
toda dor e mal acalmas,
pois, a quem tem duplo mal,
duplica o alívio a tais almas.

Ai, lutar não posso mais!
O que foi da dor e do prazer feito?
Doce paz,
vem, ai vem para meu peito!

II

Por sobre os ápices
Há paz,
Em todas as árvores
Já não mais
Percebes vaivém;
Não se ouvem as aves na floresta.
Espera só, depressa

Descansarás também.

Wandrers Nachtlied - Goethe

I

Der du von dem Himmel bist,
Alles Leid und Schmerzen stillest,
Den, der doppelt elend ist,
Doppelt mit Erquickung füllest,

Ach, ich bin des Treibens müde!
Was soll all der Schmerz und Lust?
Süßer Friede,
Komm, ach komm in meine Brust!

II

Über allen Gipfeln
Ist Ruh,
In allen Wipfeln
Spürest du
Kaum einen Hauch;
Die Vögelein schweigen im Walde.
Warte nur, balde
Ruhest du auch.

Mas a Vilania

Mas a Vilania... (Laura Riding, Tradução de Guilherme Preger)

Não é por ela própria
Que eu amo a vilania
Mas a vilania tem jeitos tão doces!

Ladrões caminham à noite
E tornam a noite mais silenciosa

Assassinos amam a loucura

E sombras disputam a lua desonestamente,

But Wickedness…

It is not for itself
That I love wickedness
But wickedness has such sweet ways!

Thieves walk at night
And make the night more silent.
Murderers love madness
And a moment’s high courage for killing.
It is not that I love killing,
But good men soften in their sanity
And smile too frequently.

Cruelty has a thousand charms.
Pain is a beauty lashed upon my back.
Oh, why is mercy kind?
Oh, why is justice blind,
Too blind for punishment?

Evil has as many enchantments as the night.
Lies are as mysterious as the stars.
The moon is a new truth each night
And shadows gamble for the moon dishonestly,
While goodness stays at home behind drawn blinds,
Hiding her beauty in a prayer,
Correctly wived to a monk’s hood.
And will not lie or love or dream.

If goodness loosed her hair
And danced at night with danger,
If goodness were as lovely half as sin,
I’d husband goodness then for her own sake
And find a thousand charms in virtue.

But wickedness has such sweet ways!

Amor

Amor
(trad. Guilherme Preger)

Não foi por culpa do guarda
em meio a roncos de motor
em vez de gritar Para!
quando me viu gritou Amor.

Mesmo o sorveteiro
(vendia grátis qualquer sabor)
em vez de gritar ó o Brigadeiro!
ao olhar para mim
ele gritou Amor

Por toda cidade a mesma mania
todo mundo folgou o dia
mesmo os filósofos entenderam além
quão bom era o Bem que me quer bem
Os pobres pararam de perder no fim
os ricos de consumir com furor
em vez de gritar não ou sim
ambos ao me verem gritaram Amor.
e me sussurrou Amor.

o coro estava cantando Amor.

Amorby Arnold Weinstein
It wasn't the policeman's fault
in all the traffic roar
instead of shouting halt
when he saw me he shouted Amor.
Even the ice-cream man
(free ice creams by the score)
instead of shouting Butter Pecan
one look at me
he shouted Amor.
All over town it went that way
everybody took off the day
even philosophers understood
how good was the good 'cuz I looked so good!
The poor stopped taking less
the rich stopped needing more.
Instead of shouting no or yes
both looking at me shouted Amor.
My stay in town was cut short
I was dragged to court.
The judge said I disturbed the peace
and the jury gave him what for!
The judge raised his hand
instead of Desist and Cease
Judgie came to the stand
took my hand

and whispered Amor.
Night was turning into day
I walked alone away,
never see that town again.
But as I passed the church-house door
instead of singing Amen
the choir was singing Amor.

The man in me – lyrics byBob Dylan

The man in me will do nearly any task
As for compensation, there's a little he will ask
Take a woman like you
To get through to the man in me.

Storm clouds are raging all around my door
I think to myself I might not take it anymore
Take a woman like your kind
To find the man in me.

But, oh what a wonderful feeling
Just to know that you are near
It sets my heart a-reeling
From my toes up to my ears.

The man in me will hide sometimes to keep from being seen
But that's just because he doesn't want to turn into some machine
Take a woman like you
To get through to the man in me.
